This collection consists of literary manuscripts written by Starr Jenkins and by Beatrice Starr Jenkins. "More than my share," is a collection of articles and fact-based fiction written by Starr Jenkins. The stories tell of his experiences with the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service as a jumper into forest fires, as well as other adventures. The manuscript by Beatrice Starr Jenkins is a biography of José María Morelos. There is also a play about Morelos by Starr Jenkins, based on his mother's work. Also included are notes by Starr Jenkins providing background information on each manuscript.

Starr Jenkins, author, was born in Chicago in 1925. After serving during World War II he worked for the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service. Received his Ph. D from University of New Mexico in 1972. In 1988 retired from the position of English professor from California Polytechnic State.
